A new regional platform for Family Farming was launched in the Agneby-Tiassa region of C\u00f4te d’Ivoire on June 9, 2022. This committee brings to 16 the number of regional platforms created by the National Action Platform for Family Farming in C\u00f4te d’Ivoire (PANAFCI).<\/p>

Since its creation in 2013, PANAFCI has been engaged in a dynamic of expansion in order to cover the entire Ivorian territory and thus mobilize all agricultural actors in C\u00f4te d’Ivoire in order to better promote and defend family farming and family farmers. The PANAFCI steering committee, under the technical coordination of Inades-Formation, is organizing various workshops to raise awareness and mobilize producers, breeders, fishermen and civil society in various regions of the country.<\/p>

The regional PANAFCI platform of Agneby-Tiassa was created following a workshop held in Agboville in the south of the country. The workshop, facilitated by Inades-Formation, allowed to inform, sensitize and mobilize producers’ organizations and civil society on the issues of the United Nations Decade for Family Farming (UNDAF) 2019-2028<\/strong> on the one hand and the AlimenTERRE Consciousness Campaign<\/strong> of Inades-Formation on the other hand.<\/p>

The UNDAF is underway in C\u00f4te d’Ivoire with the technical validation of a national action plan based on the seven (7) pillars of the global plan and the Ivorian context. It proposes concrete actions to reposition family farming as a strategic means to achieve food security and sovereignty.<\/p>

The Conscience AlimenTERRE campaign of Inades-Formation advocates a sustainable agriculture free of synthetic chemical inputs and a sufficient, healthy and responsible consumption. The campaign is thus perfectly aligned with the goals of the UNDAF 2019-2028.<\/p>

Under the supervision of the Regional Directorate of Agriculture, the fifty or so participants in the workshop, representing professional agricultural and civil society organizations in the region, chose the following as their priorities President of the Executive Board, Mr. Adon D\u00e9sir\u00e9<\/strong>, who is also in charge of the COOPASA cooperative’s processing project and co-coordinator of the Ivorian platform for sustainable cocoa. The participants also entrusted Mr. Adon with the task of forming his office.<\/p>

The mission assigned to this committee is to represent PANAFCI at the regional level. As such, the platform must :<\/p>

  • Mobilize grassroots organizations around the promotion of the decade of family farming in C\u00f4te d’Ivoire<\/li>
  • To give a voice to family farmers in the region and celebrate their knowledge and skills<\/li>
  • Advocate for the inclusion of family farmers’ concerns in the various agricultural policies implemented at the local level by districts, county councils, municipalities, etc.<\/li><\/ul>

    The fifteen (15) regional platforms of PANAFCI, to which the one in Agneby-Tiassa has now been added, are those of the following regions \n The M\u00e9<\/em>\n<\/strong>of the \n Gontougo<\/em>\n<\/strong>of \n The Marahou\u00e9<\/em>\n<\/strong>of the \n L\u00f4h-Djiboua<\/em>\n<\/strong>of the \n Tchologo<\/em>\n<\/strong>of the B\u00e9lier and the District of Yamoussoukro, Gb\u00eak\u00ea, Poro, Cavally, Haut-Sassandra, G\u00f4h, Sud Como\u00e9, Moronou, Ind\u00e9ni\u00e9-Djuablin and N’Zi.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>
