The members of the National Platform for Family Farming in Togo (PNAFAT) are taking stock of their activities. Meeting last month at the headquarters of Inades-Formation Togo, they took stock of the United Nations Decade of Family Farming (UNDAF) in Togo and of the advocacy carried out by the Platform and the perspectives.<\/p>

According to the President of PNAFAT, Director of Inades-Formation Togo, Mrs. S\u00e9lome ADOUSSI HOUETOGNON, the meeting aims at ” To take stock of the process of elaboration and implementation of the national action plan of the UNDAF in Togo and to share the dynamics related to family farming within the member organizations, in order to create more synergy and capitalize on these actions within the framework of the decade in Togo<\/em> “.<\/p>

Nine structures honored this meeting with their presence. If for some, the actions focused on the fight against the use of chemicals, exchange visits and experience sharing between communities in agricultural farms, the manufacture of compost and organic pesticides, for others, the priority was lobbying and advocacy on the need to integrate the participation of women in the national agricultural strategy and also, the inclusion of the key pillars of food sovereignty and agroecology.<\/p>

The meeting allowed to revisit the open sites of the platform whose processes were recalled by Mr. Arthur ZOGAN, Executive Secretary of the Coordination of Peasant Organizations of Togo (CTOP). It is precisely its contribution to the Law of Agricultural Orientation (LOA), to the national strategy of agroecology and to the validation of the national action plan of the DNUAF. Proposals were made to request a meeting with the competent authorities to discuss the relaunch of these actions.<\/p>

The next NAFAP meeting is scheduled for October 2022.<\/p>
