The 8th edition of the Cocoa and Chocolate Days (JNCC) took place from September 30 to October 2, 2022 in Abidjan, riviera golf. The opening ceremony was chaired by Mr. Ti\u00e9moko Meyliet Kon\u00e9, Vice-President of the Republic of C\u00f4te d’Ivoire. The theme of this edition was: “Local cocoa processing: opportunities for chocolate artisans”. This edition aimed to highlight the local processing industry in order to increase revenues for C\u00f4te d’Ivoire and improve the income of producers.<\/p>\n

Nearly 60 organizations wishing to make themselves and their activities known to the general public opened their booths in the exhibition hall of the JNCC.<\/p>\n

This year again, Inades-Formation C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, whose objectives include promoting the well-being of producers, has not missed a beat. He animated a stand where visitors could discover or rediscover the organization, its objectives, its activities and actions in the agricultural world in C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, particularly within the cocoa sector. Inades-Formation accompanies cooperatives in the production of organic cocoa. It also supports cocoa producers in advocating for better marketing of their product through the INKOTA project.<\/p>\n

The stand of Inades-Formation C\u00f4te d’Ivoire received a little more than 450 visitors from various socio-professional categories: producers, cooperative societies, students, pupils and cocoa processors, etc.<\/p>\n

One of the particularities of the stand of Inades-Formation C\u00f4te d’Ivoire was not only the availability of documents on the production of organic cocoa and other documentation, but also the discovery of dishes made with live sovereignty. These foodstuffs of sovereignty such as millet, sorghum and fonio were associated with cocoa in various forms (powder, nugget, toast) to offer original and pleasant dishes and drinks. This was a source of attraction for visitors, who were amazed to discover these “new dishes”. Thus, millet cake with cocoa powder, sorghum porridge with chocolate, sorghum cakes, millet juice, millet pancakes with chocolate, etc. were tasted by the visitors. Inades Formation invites the population to create and innovate from our local foodstuffs in order to revive them in our plates and also to consume cocoa on a daily basis by making it a living of sovereignty.<\/p>\n

It was also an opportunity to establish collaborations with other organizations present at the CGNC.<\/p>\n

The JNCC received about 4500 visitors according to the coffee and cocoa council.<\/p>\n

A closing ceremony, chaired by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Promotion of SMEs, representing the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, sponsor of this 8th edition marked the end of the JNCC 2022.<\/p>\n

It was an opportunity to present the various recommendations made during the exchanges and panels that took place. In their presentation, the technical advisor of the General Manager of the Coffee-Cocoa Council recalled the need to increase the supply of cocoa products, to promote local consumption of chocolate in C\u00f4te d’Ivoire. He also insisted on the importance of accompanying chocolate artisans so that they carry out their entrepreneurial activities.<\/p>\n
