Under the leadership of its National Director, Rapha\u00ebl MEIGNO BOKAGNE, INADES-Formation Cameroun, a promoter of healthy, sustainable food based on agroecology, visited the Nkol-Eton high school on December 11 to conduct an awareness-raising campaign with students from the high school’s environmental club. During the meeting, the INADES-Formation team informed the young learners about the production of bio-pest repellents, an alternative to the use of synthetic chemical pesticides. The aim was also to make these young students aware of the need to value their right to healthy, sustainable food through the consumption of local produce. <\/p>\n

The aim of this training session for young pupils was to make them aware of the harmful effects of pesticides on health, the environment and food. “We launched this campaign to build the pupils’ capacities, so that they too can be ambassadors to their peers and family members, and tell them that the use of pesticides is really not the right direction to take, and that there is an alternative to chemical pesticides, which is the use of organic inputs…” explained Rapha\u00ebl MEIGNO BOKAGNE, National Director of INADES-Formation Cameroun. <\/p>\n

Putting their money where their mouths are, this capacity-building session for these young people also took place on a practical level through the use of organic products and inputs, a safe bet and a fair alternative for organic farming and environmental protection.<\/p>\n
