The consortium INADES – Formation Tchad, ONG Espoir and ADC organized a vocational training course in building electricity for 50 girls and women from five departments of the Mayo-Kebbi Ouest province. The training took place in an approved vocational structure, offering a suitable framework for practical and theoretical learning. <\/p>

This initiative is part of the ” Women’s Empowerment and the Demographic Dividend in Sub-Saharan Africa”<\/strong> project ,<\/strong> financed by the World Bank with technical support from the SWEED + program. It aims to strengthen the technical skills of vulnerable young girls and women, to promote their socio-professional integration in a buoyant sector with high demand for skilled labor. <\/p>

The participants, aged between 15 and 35, followed a program focusing on essential modules such as :<\/p>

  • Electrical safety,<\/li>
  • Electrical diagrams,<\/li>
  • The electrical laboratory and basic measurements<\/li>
  • Power supply conditions.<\/li><\/ul>

    At the end of the training, a ceremony was organized to award the training completion certificates, marking the official recognition of the skills acquired by the beneficiaries. <\/p>

    For the project’s field coordinator, Mr. Mbaindiguim Aron, this training marks an important turning point for the empowerment of women, enabling them to develop income-generating activities and contribute to local development. He reaffirmed the commitment of the consortium and the SWEED + program to continue supporting beneficiaries to ensure the success and sustainability of their projects. <\/p>

    Abdelmanane Khatab, Delegate General of the Mayo-Kebbi Ouest Provincial Government, was present at the ceremony, and praised the economic and social significance of the initiative. He emphasized its importance in promoting the inclusion of young girls and women in technical professions, long perceived as the preserve of men. <\/p>
