Project presentation note
Inades-Formation implements a project that consists in identifying in African countries, actors (NGOs / Development associations, research institutes, farmers’ organisations, schools / academic institutions, individuals) and to capitalise their experiences, in two following fields:
- Practices related to the adaptation of rural populations to climate change and / or mitigation / softening of its effects;
- Inclusive1 Local Governance Initiatives for populations’ resilience to Climate Change;
Focus will be placed on experiences ensuring the participation of rural women or responding to their needs.
The project covers the period 2019-2020. The area of intervention is spread over three regions of Africa (West, Central and East), with a concentration on the following countries: Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Chad, Cameroon, DR Congo, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Burundi and Tanzania
Concretely, it will deal with identifying actors who have experiences in one or in two categories of themes and to accompany them to document learning shareable according to the work carried out and the effects triggered within the community.
Actors-bearers of experiences in these two fields or one of these fields will be selected on the basis of a call for proposals. Thus, the best actors-bearers of experiences will be selected on the basis of their technical content, professional reference and financial proposal to document an experience.
At least 25 experiences in each of these fields (at least 50 experiences in total) will be selected. The diversity of actor-bearers, experiences and countries will be preferred as much as possible.
Thus, actors-bearers of experiences selected will be initiated to the methodology to follow to capitalise their experiences. They will benefit from a financial aid for the work expected by experience selected for capitalisation.
This work will allow the transformation of these experiences into shareable knowledge, valorisation of exemplary actions, emulation and scaling up in African countries and elsewhere. Products (written and audiovisual media) will be made available to each actor and disseminated on a large scale through different channels.
A directory of actors-bearers of experiences will be constituted. Then, an electronic platform of these actors-bearers will be set up and animated to continue a dynamic exchange of experiences.
To make capitalised experiences accessible to the general public and thus enhancing the work of the actors who bear them, the products of capitalisation will be summarised in the form of sheets of presentation which will be proposed. Then there will be a summary in one publishable document.
Some exemplary experiences will be selected to produce audio-visual aids. Edited videos will be compiled on a single audio-visual aid and shared.
The media produced will be widely disseminated through digitisation, put online, different channels – the organisation of a public conference, participation in public events for exhibition-distribution, network exploitation in which Inades-Formation and the actors of the project campaign, the contribution of their partners. Radio and television broadcasts are also envisaged.
