INADES-Formation Côte d’Ivoire took part in the 2ᵉ Pan-African Conference on the Preservation of Donkey Species in Africa (PADCO 2), organized by the African Union on June 26 and 27, 2025. Placed under the theme: “Africa’s commitment to donkey preservation policy and practice: now and in the future”, this meeting brought together various players committed to the defense and enhancement of donkeys on the continent.

It was an opportunity for INADES-Formation Côte d’Ivoire to meet two key partners in the project to combat the illegal donkey skin trade: #BROOKE Kenya and BROOKE United Kingdom. These exchanges reinforce the links established within the framework of the BROOKE project, supported by #BROOKE West Africa in partnership with INADES-Formation Côte d’Ivoire.
As a reminder, from March 23 to 29, 2025, a mission was carried out in the villages of Dougba and Koulousson, in the department of Tengrela, to raise awareness among 104 donkey owners and users of the dangers associated with the illegal trade in donkey skins.

INADES-Formation’s participation in PADCO 2 was an opportunity to capitalize on the project’s achievements in Côte d’Ivoire, to share experiences in the field and to actively contribute to discussions on progress made, challenges ahead and the definition of a strategic framework for the sustainable preservation of donkeys, with a view to integrating these animals into African socio-economic systems.
