Project to empower and strengthen the leadership of rural women through the promotion of agroecological practices in family farms in the savannah region of Togo
The activities of this project to empower and strengthen the leadership of rural women through the promotion of agro-ecological practices in family farms in the savannah region of Togo are part of the logical continuation of the agro-ecological intensification project Of agricultural production in the savannas of sustainable management of natural resources implemented between 2014-2016 by Inades-Formation Togo in partnership with Agronomie et Vétérinaires sans Frontières (AVSF).
The main objective of the project is to improve the living conditions of farming families in the Savannah region by improving the management of natural resources and enhancing food security.
In the context of climate change, this project is justified by the fact that women in the region in general and those who benefit from the project in particular, who are numerous in the agricultural sector, face low productivity and Yields on their farms.
The project covers four (4) intervention cantons in the prefectures of Tone and Tandjoare and directly affects 200 people, including at least 150 women organized in the market gardening activity and around the wooded lots.
Thus, Inades-Formation Togo intends to initiate a close partnership with the organizations of women producers of the zone through the Regional Union.
