Improving opportunities for income generation and vocational training for Guelendeng-Bongor women in Tchad
Guelendeng and Bongor are cities located in the Mayo Kebbi-East region of Tchad, a very poor agricultural region with an estimated population of 495,000. This region is composed of many villages without drinking water and more than 90% of the women are illiterate.
The fundamental objective of the project is to improve the living conditions of women by increasing their options to have their own economic income. The aim is therefore to improve their professional opportunities in the project area.
The project was developed as part of a consortium of Inades-Formation, the Agricultural Training Center of Bougoudang (CPA), and the Association for Rural Self-Promotion (APR) of Guelendeng. Inades-formation Tchad coordinates and has a specific responsibility for education for citizenship through the dissemination of texts relating to women’s rights, awareness of gender equality in development actions.
Inades-Formation Tchad is also responsible for promoting the development of income-generating activities by strengthening technical and organizational capacities for the management of IGAs and grants for women’s microprojects for the common interest.
The project, which will last 24 months, started in 2016.
