The 4th meeting of the African National Committees on Family Farming (CNAF) is being held in Saly Mbour, Senegal, from October 25 to 28, 2022.
23 CNAFs are taking part in the meeting, including several in which Inades-Formation is strongly involved. These include Burundi, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, DRC and Togo.
Led by the World Rural Forum (WRF), the Conseil National de Concertation et de Coopération des Ruraux (CNCR) and the Groupe de Dialogue Social et Politique (GDSP/CNAF du Sénégal), this meeting is co-organized in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the International Coalition for Land Access in Africa.
The objective of this meeting is to stimulate knowledge sharing and collaboration as well as to build the capacity of the NACFs and other stakeholders involved in policy dialogue and the development of national action plans and other policies within the framework of the UN Decade of Family Farming/UNDAF 2019-2028.
The day of 25/10 was marked by the opening ceremony made by the authorities of the country, the reminder of the objectives of the meeting, the review of the conclusions of previous meetings of African CNAFs.
4 model countries such as DR Congo, Kenya, Togo presented their success strategies. Senegal, the host country, presented its National Action Plan which focused on strengthening policy dialogue in relation to the participation of FOs/CSOs in the development and implementation of policies to support FA, followed by discussions.
